Philmac’s threaded fittings provide maximum versatility, delivering a high performance connection across a wide range of pressure ratings and chemical combinations.

The hexagonal body makes them extremely simple to install. Importantly, Philmac threaded fittings are suitable for working pressures up to PN16 for sizes up to 2”, PN12 for 2-1/2” and PN10 for 3” and 4” sized fittings.

Smart hexagonal design makes the fittings compatible with tools and ensures that Philmac BSP threaded fittings are extremely easy to install.

The material also has a high degree of UV resistance to ensure long term performance even in direct sunlight.

Insert the barb end of the fitting into the poly pipe until fully seated, ensuring the pipe is straight and inserted to the hilt. Secure the connection with two stainless steel hose clamps positioned either side of the barb ridges, tightening evenly to compress the pipe firmly onto the barb without over-tightening. For the threaded end, wrap thread tape around the male thread 3-4 times clockwise before screwing into the female connector by hand first, then use a spanner to snug firmly. Allow the clamps to settle for 24 hours before pressurising the system. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings to prevent corrosion in Queensland's rural conditions. For easier future disconnection, consider compression fittings at key points rather than barb joins which are semi-permanent. Keep spare fittings and clamps on hand as poly pipe repairs are common in remote farm systems.
