Thunderbird Wood Post Pinlock Insulators attach to wooden or steel tube/square posts with the appropriate screw or nail (not included).

Simply attach to post, insert wire and lock with pin attached to each insulator

Easy to install

Drill a hole through your timber post at the desired height, then insert the pinlock insulator and secure it firmly so the post won't split under wire tension. Slide your electric fence wire or tape into the pinlock slot and ensure it's seated properly so the insulator grips it without slipping. Check that the insulator sits flush against the post with no gaps, as this prevents energy loss to ground. Tips: Don't over-tighten the pinlock or you'll damage the wire—it needs to be snug but not crushed, especially with tape which can fray. Space your insulators consistently down the post (usually every metre or so) to maintain even tension and prevent sagging, which causes the wire to touch the post and drain power to earth. Keep insulators clean of dirt and grass contact, as moisture bridging between wire and post will leak voltage regardless of how good your insulator is.
