Screw the corner strain insulator flat to the face of your wood corner or end post with the screws provided, positioning it at the height you'll run your tape. Feed your 40mm tape through the insulator and pull it tight — the rubber pads grip the tape and hold the strain at the corner without letting it slip. Fix it firmly so the tape can't move under load, especially on long runs or where livestock push hard against the fence. Tips: Don't over-tighten the tape in the plate or you'll damage the conductor and create a weak point that'll snap under pressure — firm and snug beats cranked down tight. Keep the plate clean of salt, dust, and vegetation buildup, particularly near coastal properties or in damp gullies where insulation degradation happens faster. Check your strain plates annually for corrosion or cracks, especially after heavy storms, as a dodgy plate will bleed energy and leave you with a fence that won't hold stock properly.
