INSULATED LINE POST 1350MM GALLAGHER G74223 at a glance

The fence post suitable for every environment, animal and easily installed by hand without the need for machinery.

A low cost, low maintenance permanent electric fence for sheep, cattle, deer and horses.

The post contains multiple wire heights - pre-formed wire attachment locations for snap-on clips (sold separately).

Features:

Easy to transport:
Light, smooth and compact

Long life:
High quality materials ensure a long life.
A UV protected polyethylene sheath protects fibreglass from UV damage.

High strength clips:
Glass filled nylon “snap-on” clips form a reliable connection with 160kg holding force – typically twice as strong as most conventional wood or steel post insulator systems.
Insulator Line Post Clips (G744) sold separately.

Flexible posts:
The strong yet flexible solid fibreglass core enables the post to flex when the fence is impacted, preventing broken or bent posts, and minimising animal injury.

Multiple configurable wire heights:
Pre-formed wire attachment locations enable many different fence configuration.

Fast and simple install:
The composite post can be easily installed with a hand rammer.
Wires simply clip onto the post, making it significantly faster than stapling or pinning on traditional post insulator systems.

Strong ground anchoring:
The multi-flanged foot design ensures strong ground anchoring, reducing the likelihood of post heave or post misalignment over time.

Post Height:
Post height is measured from the ground.

Drive the post into the ground using a post driver, ensuring it's vertical and the insulated section sits above ground level. Connect your electric fence wire to the conductive top section using appropriate clips or connectors, keeping the insulated lower section away from soil contact to maintain resistance. Space posts at intervals suitable for your fencing run—typically 3-4 metres for cattle, closer for sheep—and ensure the insulator isn't cracked or damaged before installation. Tips: Always check the insulator for splits or damage before driving the post in; a compromised insulator will leak voltage and weaken your fence effectiveness. Keep the conductive portion clear of vegetation and mulch, as plant matter touching the post will create an earth fault and drop your fence voltage significantly. Use a quality post driver rather than hammering, as impact damage to the insulator defeats the purpose of using an insulated post.
