Measure your poly pipe inner diameter and select the matching imperial size (3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5", or 2") — do not use metric conversions as they won't fit correctly. For barb fittings, slide the pipe onto the barb and secure with two stainless steel clamps, tightening evenly. For threaded fittings, wrap thread tape around the male threads and screw into the female connection until hand-tight, then turn 1-2 extra rotations with a wrench. Ensure all connections are below the 800kPa pressure rating of your rural poly pipe system. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps on barb fittings in Queensland's climate to prevent rust and corrosion. Test your completed connections at low pressure before full operation to check for leaks.
