Push each wire into opposite ends of the Gripple Plus Large — the internal one-way ceramic grip holds each wire and won't let it back out, so no lever, catch or tools are needed to make the join. To tension the join, feed the tail through and pull it up with a Gripple Plus tensioning tool (or Gripple contractor tool); the grip holds the tension automatically. Leave enough tail to re-tension, and check the join after a few days as the wire settles. Tips: Use the Gripple Plus Large only within its rated 3.25–4.20mm wire range — undersized wire can slip and oversized wire won't feed through. In hot Queensland weather, recheck your fence tension every couple of weeks during summer as wire expands and contracts with temperature swings. Keep the fitting free of built-up dirt and grit; do not oil the grip — the ceramic locking mechanism is designed to grip dry and oil can let the wire slip.
