Grazon Extra is a broad-spectrum herbicide effective against a wide range of woody weeds and broadleaf species common across Queensland and Australia, including lantana (Lantana camara), prickly acacia (Vachellia nilotica), rubber vine (Cryptostegia grandiflora), parkinsonia (Parkinsonia aculeata), chinee apple (Ziziphus mauritiana), bellyache bush, groundsel bush, blackberry, sweet briar, sicklepod (Senna obtusifolia), tobacco bush (Solanum mauritianum), and many other broadleaf pasture and environmental weeds. The three-way combination of Triclopyr, Picloram and Aminopyralid delivers strong, fast systemic activity on established woody and shrubby species that are difficult to control with single-mode herbicides. Always confirm your target species is listed on the current product label before use.
Grazon Extra is a selective broadleaf and woody weed herbicide combining Triclopyr (300 g/L), Picloram (100 g/L) and Aminopyralid (8 g/L). It is registered for use as a foliar spray, basal bark treatment, cut stump application, and stem injection, depending on the target species and situation. For foliar applications, mix the required volume of product with water in a partially filled tank, agitate well, and top up to final volume. A compatible surfactant or penetrant may be recommended — check the label for guidance. Apply to actively growing weeds with thorough leaf coverage. Avoid application if rain is expected within a few hours, as washoff will significantly reduce efficacy.
For basal bark and cut stump treatments, mix with a penetrant oil (such as diesel or a registered penetrant oil) as directed on the label, and apply to the lower bark or freshly cut stump surface to ensure absorption. Stem injection suits larger woody species — apply the correct volume per injection site as specified on the label.
Do not apply near desirable broadleaf plants, crops, or trees where root uptake or spray drift could cause damage. Picloram and Aminopyralid are persistent in soil and can move laterally, so observe all buffer zones to waterways and sensitive vegetation. Manure, hay, and plant residues from treated areas can carry residues — do not use them around susceptible plants. Do not use on or near food or feed crops unless specifically registered for that use.

Tips for Best Results
- Treat actively growing weeds: Best results come when target plants are actively growing and not stressed by drought, frost, or waterlogging. In Queensland, the late wet season or early dry season often provides ideal conditions for foliar treatments when plants are lush and translocating.
- Observe withholding periods and grazing restrictions: Grazon Extra has specific grazing, hay and fodder withholding periods — always check the label before returning stock to treated areas, especially for susceptible animals.
- Protect non-target broadleaf plants: Picloram and Aminopyralid are highly active on broadleaf species and can persist in soil and in manure or hay from treated areas. Avoid treating near gardens, shelterbelts, or remnant vegetation, and do not use treated plant material, manure, or hay as mulch or compost around sensitive plants.
- Match the method to the situation: Foliar spraying suits dense infestations; basal bark, cut stump and stem injection methods suit isolated plants or areas where spray drift is a risk.
- Storage and safety: This is a Schedule 6 (S6) poison — store in a locked, cool, dry place away from children, pets, and foodstuffs. Wear recommended PPE including chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing when mixing and applying. Dispose of empty containers per label instructions and local regulations.
