Rotech Easy Install Bolt-Through Timber Post Hinge Set - 25NB Gate
The Rotech FG2 bolt-through timber post hinge set is an improved take on the Brooker hinge. Fast and easy to install, and made to last.
The FG2 bolts through the post with a single centred hole, half the drilling and twice the adjustment of a standard bolt-through hinge. Galvanised, with an ACME thread that will not bind or clog.
After installing the backing plate, you simply sit the gate on the gudgeon and place the saddle over the two studs. The longer nylon pin helps to ensure the gate won't be at any risk of lifting off the gudgeon, and the design allows you to install the gate low to the ground without having to drill too close to the ground.

Common Questions
How many holes do I need to drill?
Installation only requires a single hole in the centre of the post, not two at offset angles like most bolt-through timber post hinge sets. Use a 22mm hardwood auger.
How is the gate fitted?
The FG2 allows you to simply sit the gate on the gudgeon and place the saddle over the two studs.
What is the ACME thread?
The FG2 uses Rotech's ACME thread, galvanised with a coating averaging 103 microns thick along the thread. Rotech notes standard zinc plated threads have a coating only 25 microns thick, and standard galvanised threads have to be recut after galvanising.
What post size does it suit?
Timber posts under 400mm, with 25NB gates.
