The Rotech FG2 FastrFit is a strong, reliable and easy-to-install bolt-through hinge set designed for 25NB farm gates and timber posts. It requires only one 22mm hole through the centre of the timber post, making installation faster and easier than conventional bolt-through hinge systems.
The FG2 features a hot-dip galvanised finish and Rotech's heavy-duty ACME thread, providing excellent corrosion resistance, smooth adjustment and increased thread strength. Its unique top saddle design allows the gate to be fitted after the backing plate has been installed.

Common Questions
What makes the FG2 easier to install than other timber post hinges?
The FG2 has a unique top strap design that lets you fit the gate after you've installed the bolt-through backing plate. Unlike most timber post hinges where the strap has to be inserted over the gate and through the post, you simply sit the gate on the gudgeon and place the saddle over the two studs. You only need to drill one hole, so hanging your gate is quick and easy.
Why is the ACME thread better?
The FG2 uses a new ACME thread that gets a full hot-dip galvanised coating averaging 103 microns thick along the thread. Standard zinc plated threads only have about 25 microns of coating. Standard hot-dip galvanised threads have to be recut after galvanising so the nuts spin properly, which removes most of the coating and reduces rust resistance. The ACME thread is stronger and wider, so there's no recutting needed on the FG2, meaning better rust protection and longer life.
