Slide the 32mm fastener onto your gate frame and align it with the post. Thread the bolt through both the fastener and post, then tighten firmly with a wrench — you want it snug enough that the gate won't rattle or shift when the stock pushes against it. Check the tension after a few weeks of use and retighten if needed, as movement can work fasteners loose. Tips: Don't over-tighten on the first go — tighten gradually and check that your gate swings freely without binding, or you'll wear out the hinges faster. If you're replacing old fasteners, clean out any rust or dirt from the post holes first so the new fastener seats properly. In our Queensland heat, check your gates monthly during summer as metal expands and fasteners can loosen up.
