Foxlights uses a computerised varying flash with three colours to mimic someone patrolling with a flashlight. Predators have a natural fear of man, so the moving light pattern discourages them from approaching your stock or poultry pens. Because the flash pattern varies, predators are less likely to get used to it over time.
How far can the light be seen?
The nine LED bulbs project 360 degrees and can be seen over 1km away, providing wide coverage around your property.
How is it powered?
Foxlights is solar powered, with a solar panel that collects energy and stores it in two AA rechargeable batteries. The batteries should last approximately three years. You can also charge it via USB from mains power if needed, which is useful during extended periods of low sunlight.
Where should I position Foxlights?
You can set Foxlights where your stock are, near poultry pens, on a steel fence post, hung from a tree, or attached to an existing fence. It's easy to relocate as you move stock to free pastures. However, solar lights need good sunlight, so they may not be suited for heavily forested or shaded areas. In such cases, we recommend using a combination of lights.
