Flopak Plus 4 In 1 is used in the treatment of milk fever, grass tetany and associated metabolic conditions in cattle and sheep.

It is a sterile, non-pyrogenic injection solution of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and glucose.

What is metabolic disease:

Metabolic disease is a collective name given to conditions that are caused by a disturbance in the animal’s normal metabolic processes or a deficiency of an essential nutrient in the body.
Metabolic diseases are typically caused by an inability of the animal to meet its demands during times of high production or stress, particularly around late pregnancy and early lactation.
These diseases can often occur concurrently and present with similar clinical signs but have very different causes and treatments.

The most common metabolic diseases in sheep and cattle are:

Milk Fever:
Is caused by a deficiency in calcium.

Grass Tetany:
Is caused by a deficiency in magnesium.

Ketosis:
Is caused by a deficiency in energy.

Administer by subcutaneous injection only — use of this product intravenously may be hazardous to the animal. Give the injection under the skin of the neck or over the ribs, using the sterile delivery set supplied; large volumes should be distributed over more than one injection site. Warm the pack to body temperature before use and gently squeeze the bag to aid flow. Cattle: 500 mL (heavier cows 500–1000 mL). Sheep: 40–70 kg 60–100 mL; 70–100 kg 100–150 mL. Use aseptic technique. Withholding periods: meat 0 days, milk 0 days. Seek veterinary attention for animals that do not respond.
