Philmac VersaPHIL tapered BSP thread plastic float valve, 3/4" & 1" inlet, 300mm lever (Philmac code 91 4703 20).

Versatile tapered BSP float valve, suited to a wide range of applications in troughs and tanks. This float valve is ideally suited to either concrete or poly troughs and tanks with tapered inlets. Troughs up to 1500 L.

The VersaPHIL tapered float valve is supplied with a 1" to 3/4" adaptor, allowing the one float valve to cover the 2 inlet sizes.

Body: acetyl high-performance thermoplastic material, with excellent UV, impact, corrosion and chemical resistance
Corrosion resistant DZR brass lever assembly and pivot pin
Locking nut: each lever has a nut fitted to the end, locking the float in place
Lever length: 300mm
Recommended float (agricultural): 6" (150mm)

The valve is designed for easy disassembly, by simply removing the pivot pin and lever assembly.

Apply PTFE tape to the thread to ensure a water tight seal. Holding the valve by the body, screw it into the female thread by hand until firm. Adjust to perpendicular with a wrench if necessary. The VersaPHIL tapered float valve is supplied with a 1" to 3/4" adaptor. Attach the float to the threaded end of the lever and tighten the locking nut with multi-grips or an adjustable wrench. Where necessary, adjust the water level by removing the R-clip and pivot pin and removing the lever arm. Bend the lever to the necessary angle, then re-insert the lever arm, slide the pivot pin back into place and replace the R-clip to secure the lever.

It is a tapered BSP thread valve supplied with a 1" to 3/4" adaptor, so the one float valve covers both 3/4" and 1" inlets.

What float should I use?

Philmac's recommended agricultural float for this valve is 6" (150mm). The float attaches to the threaded end of the lever and is locked in place with the nut fitted to the end of the lever.
