Cocky Ball Floats for stock troughs have fully clamped brass threaded inserts which eliminate any chance of thread stripping.

The combination of a metal threaded insert and a strong metal clamp provides the ultimate support when the float is fitted to the end of the arm and has the greatest load.

The threads in the Cocky Ball Floats won’t strip, so unlike other manufacturers, do not require a replaceable plastic threaded cap.

Cocky Ball Floats supply a range of ball floats specifically to suit their product range.

Each float is clearly marked with its size 150mm (6”), 200mm (8”), 250mm (10”) and the
largest in our range the 300mm (12”).

All Cocky Floats come in Safety Orange for easy checking even from a distance.

The floats all have brass inserts with standard M10 threads.

Cocky Ball Floats regard their floats as the toughest and most reliable float on the market and they come with a full replacement warranty if used under normal operating conditions.

Screw the float ball onto the threaded arm of your valve using the brass M10 insert — it should thread on firmly without needing tools. Hand-tighten until snug; the heavy-duty brass insert is designed to take the load without stripping, so there's no need to over-torque it. Once attached, fit the valve assembly into your stock trough or tank following the valve manufacturer's instructions. Adjust the float arm angle so the ball sits at your desired water level, allowing the valve to shut off cleanly when the water reaches that point. Turn on the supply and watch through a full fill cycle to confirm the valve closes properly and there are no leaks at the connection points. The Safety Orange colour makes it easy to spot the float from a distance, so you can do a quick visual check of trough levels without walking right up to them. Tips: This float is clearly marked with its size — this one is 250mm. If you're running multiple troughs, keeping a spare float ball on hand is cheap insurance against livestock damage or UV cracking. If you're on a dam-fed or bore system, fitting a strainer on the inlet line will help protect the valve mechanism from sediment and extend its service life.
