Gallagher Fence Tester Remote and Fault Finder

Hold the remote firmly against the fence wire, seating the wire in the fence-connection slot and keeping your fingers on the battery cover while you stand on the ground — the reading is taken through your body to earth. The display shows fence voltage and current plus an arrow for the direction of current flow. To find a fault, take readings every 50-100m and at junction points and follow the wire carrying the highest current; a drop in current between two checkpoints tells you the fault is between them. Once you've found it, hold the remote on the fence and press the button to switch your i Series energiser off so you can repair the fence safely, then switch it back on the same way. Tips: Test your fence regularly, especially after heavy rain or when growth is high — vegetation touching the wire is the most common cause of current loss. Take readings at the same points each time so you can compare and catch a developing fault early. It works only with i Series energiser systems and the MX7500; one remote can run several energisers, or several remotes one energiser.
