Set your posts 1200mm apart centre-to-centre and ensure they're plumb and solid before hanging. Attach the hinges to the post first, then hang the gate and fit the latch mechanism on the opposite post. Check the gate swings freely without dragging on the ground and adjust hinge bolts if needed to get a clean swing. Tips: Stainless steel won't rust but it'll still benefit from a regular hose down, especially after wet weather or if you're working in salty country. Make sure your posts are set deep enough in concrete — a flimsy post won't keep your gate hanging true for long, and you'll end up fighting it every time you open and close.
