Drill a hole through your fence post at the desired height, then insert the eyelet screw bolt through the hole and tighten securely using a wrench or spanner. Make sure the eyelet is facing outward so you can thread your wire or rope through it cleanly. Tighten firmly but don't over-torque — you want it secure, not stripped. Tips: Always use a washer under the bolt head to distribute pressure and stop the bolt from pulling through the timber, especially in softer posts. Pre-drill your hole slightly smaller than the bolt diameter to get a tight grip and prevent the screw from turning when you're tightening up. Check your eyelet alignment before final tightening — a twisted eyelet will give you grief when you're threading wire through later.
