This is a pre-assembled 40mm tape gate — mount the supplied gate anchor and Pinlock insulator on your two gate posts (suits 3–5m gateways) and connect the tape gate to your live fence line. Hook the insulated handle over the anchor so the sprung tape gate pulls taut across the opening; unhooking the handle opens the gateway and breaks the circuit cleanly. Test it with your energiser before turning stock through to confirm the tape is live when closed and dead across the opening when the handle is off. Tips: Keep the sprung tape tensioned so the gate sits taut when closed but the handle still lifts off easily — you'll thank yourself running stock through in hot weather or poor light. Check the handle and anchor contact points regularly because dirt and corrosion will kill your fence security faster than a loose wire, so wipe them down every few weeks if you're in damp country.
