For the control of Light brown Apple Moth on Apples, Pears, Citrus and Grapevines and for control of various insect pests of Avocado, Custard Apple, Kiwifruit, Longa, Lychee, Macadamia and Eucalyptus as specified in the Directions for use Table.

Ecdypro is a Group 18 bisacyl hydrazine insecticide that acts as an insect growth regulator (IGR) in target lepidopteran pests.

The active ingredient, Tebufenozide is an Ectysteroid agonist that mimics an insect growth hormone.

Once ingested, ecdysone receptors are activated by the increased concentration of the IGR insecticide, which induces a molting cycle.

Unlike the natural hormones that normally trigger molting, the stability of Tebufenozide in vivo is far greater than the hormone that it is mimicking.

As such, genes responsible for the early phases of the molting process are expressed by the increased concentration of the IGR, but the late phase genes that are triggered by the decline in hormonal concentration are not expressed due to the unnaturally prolonged presence of Tebufenozide.

In susceptible Lepidoptera, lethality is due to a variety of altered mechanisms resulting in an inability to complete a molt, starvation and desiccation due to hemorrhage.

Using Ecdypro:

Ecdypro is primarily active via ingestion and exhibits limited systemicity in host crops.

Thorough coverage of the crop with suitable water rates is required for best results.

Ecdypro can be used for targeting key pests like Macadamia Flower Caterpillar, Nutborer, Leaf Rollers and Light Brown Apple Moth during periods of flowering due to its safety to foraging bees.

Ecdypro works best on 1st and 2nd instar larvae, so early detection and targeting critical damage windows will provide the best level of control.

Ecdypro causes a rapid cessation to feeding, however live larvae may still be visible up to 7 days post application.

Further damage will not generally occur during this interval.

Using Ecdypro will not cause secondary flare up of mites or other pests.

Withholding Period:

Common Questions

What pests does ECDYPRO 700 WP control?

ECDYPRO 700 WP is registered for control of Light Brown Apple Moth on apples, pears, citrus and grapevines, and various insect pests of avocado, custard apple, kiwifruit, longan, lychee, macadamia and eucalyptus. On macadamia, key pests include Macadamia Flower Caterpillar, Nutborer and Leaf Rollers. Always refer to the Directions for Use table on the product label for the full list of registered pests on each crop.

How does ECDYPRO 700 WP work?

ECDYPRO 700 WP is an insect growth regulator (IGR) containing tebufenozide, which mimics an insect growth hormone. Once ingested by susceptible lepidopteran pests, it activates a molting cycle that the insect cannot complete, leading to inability to molt, starvation and desiccation. The product causes rapid cessation of feeding, though live larvae may still be visible for several days after application.

When is the best time to spray ECDYPRO 700 WP?

ECDYPRO 700 WP works best on first and second instar larvae. Early detection and targeting critical damage windows will provide the best level of control. The product can be used during flowering periods on macadamia as it is safe to foraging bees. Thorough crop coverage with suitable water rates is required for best results. For specific timing on your crop, check the product label or contact your local agronomist.

What is the withholding period for ECDYPRO 700 WP on macadamia?

For macadamia, do not harvest for 4 weeks after application. Withholding periods vary by crop, so always check the product label before harvest. If you're unsure, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or visit us at 55 Tozer St, Gympie.
