Earthlife Fruit Blend is a mineral-based fruit-tree fertiliser and soil conditioner designed for fruit trees and other fruiting plants. It supplies a broad range of major, secondary and trace nutrients, together with beneficial soil microbes and fungi, to support healthy root growth, flowering, fruit set and fruit development.

What is in Fruit Blend?

Earthlife describes Fruit Blend as containing 60 mineral elements, including:

What does it do?

Fruit Blend is formulated to provide a broad nutrient balance for fruiting plants. Earthlife states that it can:

• Support flowering and fruit set
• Encourage fruit development and maturation
• Improve fruit quality and keeping qualities
• Support a stronger, healthier root system
• Help plants better withstand adverse growing conditions
• Maintain healthy plant growth while fruit is developing
• Help stabilise soil pH

The relatively high calcium and silica content, together with the broad mineral profile, makes it particularly suited to a program where the aim is to maintain overall plant and fruit quality rather than simply supplying nitrogen.

Suitable plants

Fruit Blend is intended for newly planted and established fruit trees and other fruiting plants. It can be used throughout the growth cycle, including during fruit development.

Application timing

For young, non-bearing plants, Earthlife recommends generally applying Fruit Blend every six months.

For established fruiting plants, it is applied at various stages of growth, generally 4–5 times per year, depending on the fertilising program and plant requirements.

The manufacturer's fruiting guide gives 200 g/m² after fruit harvest and at bud set, followed by approximately 100 g/m² at flowering, after fruit set and around half fruit size.

How to apply

Fruit Blend should generally be spread over the soil around the root zone, then lightly worked into the soil or watered in thoroughly with irrigation. Earthlife recommends using it during fruit development and states that this gives the best response.

Avoid concentrating fertiliser directly against the trunk or stem. For established trees, spread it across the active root area rather than placing it in one small spot.
