Earthcare Water Crystals are a highly effective soil moisture-retention solution designed to reduce water loss and help plants establish during dry conditions.
When incorporated into soil, potting media or planting backfill, the super-absorbent crystals take up large quantities of water and water-soluble nutrients. The stored moisture is then released back into the surrounding soil as conditions dry, helping maintain a more consistent supply of water around the plant's root zone.
Earthcare Water Crystals can absorb up to 500 times their own weight in water and can remain effective in the soil for up to 5 years, rehydrating whenever rainfall or irrigation is received.

What do Earthcare Water Crystals do?
They are super-absorbent polymer crystals that soak up to 500 times their own weight in water and water-soluble nutrients, then release that moisture back into the soil as it dries. They rehydrate with every rainfall or irrigation and remain effective in the soil for up to 5 years.
How much should I use?
As a guide, mix 1.5g per litre of backfill soil, or 1g per 50mm tube for tube stock. Always incorporate the crystals evenly through the soil or potting media rather than layering them in the bottom of the hole, and follow the directions on the packaging.
What are they best used for?
They're ideal for establishing trees, shrubs and tube stock, transplanting, landscaping, revegetation and dry-area planting — anywhere maintaining soil moisture is difficult. They help reduce transplant shock and improve establishment and survival rates.
Are they safe to handle?
