Apply the Allflex Rapid Tag by loading the standard female tag into the Rapid Tag applicator and the male pin tag in the corresponding slot. Place the tag in the middle third of the ear between the ribs, avoiding the ridge (central ear rib), large blood vessels, and the edges. Apply in one firm, swift motion to ensure a clean pierce and secure retention. Disinfect the applicator and tag hole site in accordance with standard husbandry practices. Tips: Ear tags applied in the correct position between ear ribs have the lowest loss rate and best welfare outcome. Avoid tagging sick or very young lambs in cold wet weather when immunity is lower. Keep records of tag numbers for NLIS traceability compliance.
