Equitex Medicated Poultice Dressing is a non-sterile poultice dressing for use on horses.
Active constituent: 60 mg/g Boric Acid
Equitex can be used as a hot poultice, a cold poultice or a dry dressing. Cut the dressing to size and apply with the plastic backing away from the skin. The dressing should be renewed at least once every 12 hours.

What is Equitex?
Equitex Medicated Poultice Dressing is a non-sterile poultice dressing for use on horses. It contains 60 mg/g Boric Acid. For animal treatment only.
How do I use it as a hot poultice?
Cut the dressing to size and place in a shallow tray of boiled water which has been allowed to cool to 38°C. Once saturated, remove the dressing and gently squeeze out excess water. Place on the affected area with the plastic backing away from the skin and hold in place with a stretch conforming, elastic adhesive or cohesive bandage.
Can it be used cold or dry?
Yes. For a cold poultice, after soaking the dressing in boiled water, allow to cool thoroughly then apply to the affected area. For a dry dressing, simply apply the dressing directly to the affected area and bandage with a stretch conforming elastic or adhesive bandage.
How often should the dressing be changed?
The dressing should be renewed at least once every 12 hours. Ensure that the bandage is not applied too tightly and that the poultice is not too hot. Consult your vet before applying the poultice to infected wounds.
