Digit Grass Seed per Kg - Coated RVD

Digit Grass is a productive, warm-season perennial pasture grass suited to grazing systems in subtropical and tropical regions. It produces leafy, palatable forage and, once established, can form a persistent pasture capable of providing good ground cover and competition against weeds.

Digit Grass is well suited to cattle and general grazing pastures and can be planted as a standalone grass or incorporated into suitable pasture mixes. Good establishment, soil fertility and grazing management will help maintain productivity and pasture persistence.

Planting Time

Plant during the warmer months when soil temperatures are warm and reliable moisture is available. In Queensland, spring through summer is generally the preferred establishment period. Sow following good rainfall or when reliable follow-up moisture is expected.

Planting Rate

Approximately 2–4 kg/ha as a general guide.

Actual sowing rates may vary depending on seed purity and germination, seed coating, planting method, seedbed preparation and whether Digit Grass is being planted alone or in a pasture mix.

Soil & Establishment

Digit Grass performs best in well-drained, reasonably fertile soils. Prepare a firm, weed-free seedbed and sow the small seed shallowly, ensuring good seed-to-soil contact. Avoid planting too deeply. Adequate soil moisture during germination and early establishment is important.

For best pasture performance, maintain appropriate soil fertility and manage grazing to allow plants to establish strongly before introducing heavy grazing.
