Cydectin Se Oral Drench for Sheep with Selenium contains 1 mg/mL moxidectin and 0.5 mg/mL selenium (as sodium selenate).
For the treatment and control of moxidectin sensitive gastrointestinal parasites (including benzimidazole and/or levamisole resistant strains), lungworm and itchmite of sheep. An aid in the control of selenium responsive conditions.
Parasites controlled
Mature and immature: Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus spp., T. axei, T. colubriformis, Ostertagia spp., O. circumcincta, Cooperia spp., C. oncophora, Nematodirus spp., Strongyloides papillosus, Oesophagostomum columbianum, Chabertia ovina, Dictyocaulus filaria.
Adult nematodes: Trichostrongylus rugatus, T. vitrinus, Cooperia curticei, Nematodirus abnormalis, N. helvetianus, Ostertagia trifurcata, Oesophagostomum venulosum, Trichuris ovis.
Itchmite: Psorergates ovis.
Persistent activity
Reinfection with Haemonchus contortus worms prevented for at least 14 days and pasture contamination by H. contortus eggs for at least 30 days after single treatment. Reinfection with Ostertagia spp worms prevented for at least 14 days and pasture contamination by Ostertagia eggs for at least 35 days after single treatment.
CYDECTIN has shown efficacy against a number of ivermectin resistant strains of H. contortus and Ostertagia spp. However, as CYDECTIN shares a similar mechanism of action to the avermectins, it SHOULD NOT be used where avermectin resistance is present, except where specifically recommended by an advisor.
Has a wide margin of safety when used as recommended and is readily accepted by sheep. Safe to use concurrently with other treatments including fluke treatments and vaccines. Do not add copper salts or additional selenium to this drench. NOT recommended for use in goats as safety and efficacy have not been evaluated.

What does Cydectin Se control?
It is for the treatment and control of moxidectin sensitive gastrointestinal parasites (including benzimidazole and/or levamisole resistant strains), lungworm and itchmite of sheep, and is an aid in the control of selenium responsive conditions.
What is the dose?
1 mL/5 kg liveweight, giving 0.2 mg moxidectin/kg and 0.1 mg selenium/kg liveweight. For animals above 75 kg, dose at 1 mL per 5 kg body weight.
Can I use it with other selenium products?
This product should not be used when selenium intake from pasture is high or selenium is provided by other means (such as pasture top dressing, vaccine, pellets or selenium drenches) if blood selenium levels at treatment are high. Do not add copper salts or additional selenium to this drench.
What are the withholding periods?
Meat: do not administer later than 7 days before slaughter for human consumption. ESI: do not use less than 7 days before slaughter for export. Do not use in female sheep which are producing, or may in the future produce, milk or milk products for human consumption.
