Position the concrete round water trough in a central location within your paddock to ensure all livestock can access water without travelling excessive distances. Install the trough on level ground away from trees and structures that could cause contamination from falling debris or animal waste. For supplement feeding programs, adjust the external float valve to control water flow rate according to your livestock requirements and feeding schedule. Empty and rinse the trough regularly between different product types to prevent cross-contamination and maintain water quality. Tips: Place the trough in a shaded area or provide temporary shelter during hot weather to reduce algae growth and water spoilage, particularly important in Gympie's warm climate. Position the trough away from high-traffic animal areas to minimise mud accumulation around the base, which can affect accessibility for smaller or subordinate animals. Monitor water levels daily and clean the trough weekly to maintain hygiene and prevent disease transmission among your herd.
