COMFORTIS PLUS (spinosad + milbemycin oxime) chewable tablets for dogs 27.1 - 54 kg.

Indicated for monthly administration for the prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis); for the treatment, prevention and control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the control of flea allergy dermatitis; and for treatment and control of adult hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), roundworm (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) infections in dogs and puppies from eight weeks of age, and 2.3 kg body weight or greater.

Spinosad begins to kill fleas within 30 minutes of oral administration and kills 100% of fleas within 4 hours.

There is no requirement to exclude the dog from access to any furniture or home fittings.

Active constituents: each tablet contains 1620 mg spinosad and 27 mg milbemycin oxime.

Do not administer to puppies less than 8 weeks of age.

Dogs and puppies from 8 weeks and 2.3 kg or greater: heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) prevention; fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) and flea allergy dermatitis; adult hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), roundworm (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), whipworm (Trichuris vulpis).

COMFORTIS PLUS tablets are given orally, once a month. Dogs 27.1 - 54 kg: one tablet (1620 mg spinosad, 27 mg milbemycin oxime). COMFORTIS PLUS should be administered with food for maximum effectiveness. It may be consumed as treats by dogs when offered by the owner just prior to feeding, or offered in food or administered like other tablet medications, in conjunction with a meal. To ensure that the entire dose is consumed, watch your dog for several minutes following tablet administration. If the entire dose is not consumed, re-dose as soon as possible with the full dose. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, re-dose with another full dose. Do not administer to puppies less than 8 weeks of age. Puppies less than 14 weeks of age may experience an increased rate of vomiting. Precautions: Dogs should be tested for heartworm prior to commencing treatment. Dogs with an existing adult heartworm infection should be treated with an adulticide prior to commencement of COMFORTIS PLUS. Seek veterinary advice regarding the use of COMFORTIS PLUS in pregnant and lactating females and in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The safe use of COMFORTIS PLUS in breeding males has not been evaluated. The use of COMFORTIS PLUS in dogs suffering from microfilaremia is not recommended. COMFORTIS PLUS should not be administered concurrently with extra-high doses of macrocyclic lactones. Consult your veterinarian for advice if the inter-dosing interval has exceeded six weeks.
