Cobalife VB12 is a vitamin B12 injection for the treatment and control of vitamin B12 deficiency in sheep and cattle.
Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin required for metabolic functions, including fat and carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis.
It is also vital for glucose production in ruminants, which is essential to meet the high energy demands of growth and lactation.
Cobalife VB12 contains hydroxocobalamin to treat and control vitamin B12 deficiency in sheep and cattle.
Vitamin B12 is an essential, water-soluble vitamin.
When deficient, animals can have reduced appetite and growth rates, ill thrift, infertility, and reduced wool and milk production.
An injectable vitamin B12 is an effective way to prevent and correct vitamin B12 deficiency in livestock.

Dosage and Administration:
Lambs:
0.5mL at marking or weaning
Sheep:
1 - 1.5mL pre-lambing
Calves:
2 - 3mL from 2 months of age
Cattle:
4 - 6mL pre-calving
Dose by subcutaneous injection only.
Dose frequency should relate to the severity of the deficiency.
E.g. in extremely deficient areas, repeat dose every 2 - 3 months. In less deficient areas, repeat dose every 5 - 6 months or as necessary.

Dosage and Administration
Use the contents within 24 hours of first broaching. Discard the unused portion. Give dose by subcutaneous injection only.
- LAMBS: 0.5 mL at marking or weaning
- SHEEP: 1 - 1.5 mL pre lambing
- CALVES: 2 - 3 mL from 2 months of age
- COWS: 4 – 6 mL pre calving
Frequency of Dosing
The frequency of dosing should be related to the severity of the deficiencies:
- For sheep in extremely deficient areas, repeat dose every 2-3 months
- In less deficient areas, repeat dose every 5-6 months or as found necessary
- Consult your animal health advisor for advice specific to your flock or herd

- Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling (or equivalent) before use. Avoid use of strong disinfectants on apparatus
- Maintain cleanliness at all times
- Keep needles sharp and clean. Replace frequently
- Use shortest needles possible certainly not exceeding 15 mm
- As far as possible, avoid injection in wet weather or under dusty conditions
- This product should be injected only under the skin
- If possible inject high on the neck behind the ear
