Push the fibreglass post firmly into the ground by hand or with a gentle tap from a mallet — no digging required. Slide your electric wire through the clips at the desired height, making sure the wire sits properly in the groove to maintain good contact. Space posts 4-5 metres apart for temporary fencing, closer if you're running multiple wires or dealing with livestock that test the fence. Once installed, check that each post is upright and the wire is tensioned evenly along the line. Tips: Wet the ground the day before you install posts if the soil is hard and dry — it makes pushing in much easier and reduces the risk of snapping the post. Push posts in at a slight angle leaning away from the direction you'll be tensioning the wire, which helps them resist the pull. Always double-check your clips are gripping the wire properly after tensioning, as loose contact is the main cause of stock escaping.
