180CM CLIPEX GALVANISED STEEL 5 SLOT FENCE POST 617001 at a glance

Clipex fence posts are manufactured from high tensile steel, the standard posts are made with a unique patented process, which guarantees a high precision product every time.

Clipex fence posts are made with special slots at the ideal intervals along the post.

Clipex then riveted a small pin and keeper assembly to each slot in their factory.

This clip assembly enables a fencing wire to be clipped into the post in the blink of an eye, but the orientation of the keeper and pins prevent the wire from coming out.

Wire can be unclipped by manually rotating the clip up and pulling the wire out.

This allows wire to be easily pulled out and recycled, or pulled out and re-strained.

Hot Dip Galvanised: 600g/m2
Post type: 180cm 5-Slot
Recommended Post Spacing: 5 Meters

Fence post spacing — a quick guideLine posts (star pickets) carry the wires between your strainer posts. As a rough starting point: crop or exclusion fence about 5 m, sheep about 4 m, cattle about 4 m on flat ground and about 3 m on hilly ground. Space them closer together for more wires, larger or pushier stock, and undulating country. Let your strainer posts do the anchoring at ends, corners, gateways and any change of direction or slope.

Drive the 180cm Clipex 5-slot galvanised post to 600mm depth using a post driver, giving approximately 120cm above ground — standard height for cattle and sheep fencing. Orient each post so the five wire slots face outward along your fence line. Insert Clipex wire clips (sold separately) into the slots at your chosen wire heights, then snap fence wire into each clip. No staples or tie wire needed. Tips: The 180cm Clipex at 120cm above ground suits 4-5 strand cattle or sheep fencing. For horses or higher-tension fencing, check your required above-ground height before ordering. Clipex posts are galvanised for long-term rust protection and handle Queensland conditions well. Keep the slots clear of dirt and debris to ensure smooth clip insertion.

Common Questions

What makes Clipex posts different from standard fence posts?

Clipex posts are manufactured from high tensile steel using a unique patented process that guarantees high precision every time. They come with special slots at ideal intervals along the post, and each slot has a small pin and keeper assembly riveted on in the factory. This clip assembly lets you clip fencing wire in quickly and securely — the design of the keeper and pins prevents the wire from coming out accidentally.

Can I remove and reuse the wire if I need to?

Yes. Wire can be unclipped by manually rotating the clip up and pulling the wire out. This means you can easily pull out wire to recycle it, or pull it out and re-strain it if needed.

What's the post height and how many slots does it have?

This is a 180cm post with 5 slots for clipping wire.

What spacing should I use when installing these posts?

The recommended post spacing is 5 metres.

Is the post galvanised, and how much protection does it have?

Yes, this post is hot dip galvanised with 600g/m² coating, which provides corrosion protection.
