Camlock coupling fittings provide a fast, easy and convenient method for connecting tanks, hoses and piping in a range of common fluid transfer related applications.

Camlock fittings are also commonly used to connect sections of layflat hoses to each other, as well as process equipment including pumps to assist with fluid transfer, including for mine dewatering, irrigation and many more practical uses.

Depending on the specific application, hoses can be secured on Camlock fittings through the use of heavy duty stainless steel hose clamps.

For heavier duty applications, the stainless steel range of Camlock couplings is recommended.

Insert the 40mm barb tail into poly pipe that has been cut square and cleaned of debris, then secure with two stainless steel hose clamps positioned just below the barb ridges. Tighten clamps evenly in a cross pattern using a screwdriver until snug — do not over-tighten as this can damage the pipe. The camlock male adaptor end connects to compatible female camlock couplers on hoses or equipment. Allow 24 hours for any system pressure testing after installation. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps with barb fittings in rural applications to prevent corrosion and clamp failure in outdoor conditions. For easier future disconnections, consider camlock fittings on hose connections rather than permanent solvent-weld alternatives. Ensure your poly pipe is rated to at least 800kPa if using this fitting in pump-fed systems.
