This is a Philmac Type F aluminium camlock adaptor – a male camlock end and a male BSP thread of the same size (50mm). It has no barb or hose tail, so it does not clamp onto poly pipe. Screw the male BSP thread into a matching female BSP-threaded fitting, using PTFE thread-seal tape on the thread for a watertight seal; hand-tighten, then nip up about a quarter turn with a spanner – do not over-tighten. The male camlock end pushes into any matching 50mm female camlock coupler: seat it fully and close both cam arms down over the groove to lock. Open the cam arms by hand to disconnect – no tools required. Tips: Keep the camlock seal clean and check it for damage before locking the arms. Never use cam and groove couplings for compressed air or steam service. Use fittings and poly pipe rated for your system's operating pressure.
