Screw the female BSP thread onto the male BSP-threaded outlet on your pump, tank or valve, using PTFE thread-seal tape on the male thread for a watertight seal. Hand-tighten, then nip up about a quarter turn with a spanner - do not over-tighten. The female camlock end receives a matching 50mm male camlock adaptor: push the male adaptor fully into the coupler and close both cam arms down over its groove to lock. This is a Philmac Type D coupler - a female camlock end and a female 50mm BSP thread. It has no barb/hose-tail, so it does not clamp onto poly pipe directly; use a matching barbed camlock fitting where you need to join to poly pipe. Tips: Keep the coupler seal clean and check it for damage before locking the arms. Open the cam arms to disconnect by hand, with no tools, which makes camlock ideal for connections you need to break and remake. Use fittings and poly pipe rated for your system's operating pressure.
