What It's Used For

The Calf Speedy Drencher Complete is a 2.5 litre stomach feeder designed for drenching and feeding young calves. It combines the well-proven Speedy Feeder calf feed bottle with a standard rigid drench probe, giving you a reliable flow-adjustable stomach feeder that's straightforward to use in dairy and beef calf-rearing situations.

The rigid probe assembly allows controlled delivery of colostrum, milk replacer, electrolytes or oral drenches directly into the calf's stomach, making it particularly useful for weak or newborn calves that won't feed on their own. The probe with lid is also available separately, so you can fit it to your existing Speedy Feeder bottle as a spare or replacement.

Fill the 2.5 litre bottle with your prepared feed or drench solution, then securely attach the probe assembly lid to the bottle. Restrain the calf safely before use. Gently pass the rigid probe over the back of the calf's tongue and down into the oesophagus, checking placement before administering any liquid. Use the flow adjustment to control delivery at a steady, comfortable rate for the calf.

Before first use, wash all components thoroughly in warm soapy water, rinse well and allow to dry completely. Ensure the probe assembly is firmly seated on the bottle before each use. Note that the full container must never be carried or lifted by the probe — always hold the bottle itself to avoid damage to the probe assembly or spillage.

After each use, disassemble the probe from the bottle and rinse both components immediately with clean water to prevent milk or drench residue from drying inside. Follow up with a thorough wash in warm soapy water, rinse well and allow to air dry before storage. Note that this drencher is not suitable for use with the Easy Feeder bottle, as the cap on the Easy Feeder does not have an air inlet.

Tips for Best Results

• Always check probe placement carefully before releasing any liquid — incorrect placement can cause serious harm to the calf.
• Use the flow adjustment to deliver liquid slowly and steadily, particularly with weak or very young calves, to reduce the risk of aspiration.
• Never carry or transport a full bottle by holding the probe — always grip the bottle body to protect the probe assembly and prevent accidents.
• Rinse the bottle and probe immediately after each use while residue is still fresh — dried milk or colostrum is much harder to remove and can harbour bacteria.
• Store disassembled and fully dry in a clean, sheltered spot away from direct sunlight to prolong the life of the components.
• Keep a spare probe assembly on hand — the probe with lid is available separately to fit your Speedy Feeder bottle, so you're not caught short at a critical time.
