What It's Used For

The Daviesway Stallion Compartment 3 Teat Calf Feeder is designed for group-feeding young calves, making it a practical solution for dairy and beef operations where multiple calves need to be fed at the same time. With a 16-litre capacity and three individually moulded internal compartments, it ensures each calf gets fair access to milk or milk replacer without competition or wastage.

The feeder hangs off rails, pipes or wire fencing using strong hook-over brackets, keeping it securely in place during feeding. The three screw-in Peach Teats mimic natural suckling, encouraging calves to feed confidently and consistently — helping every animal reach its growth potential.

Fill the feeder with the required volume of milk or milk replacer — up to 16 litres — and hang it securely on a rail, pipe or wire fence using the hook-over brackets. Adjust the bracket height so the teats sit at a comfortable feeding height for your calves. Introduce calves to the teats individually if needed, particularly with younger or first-time feeders.

The three internal compartments are moulded to divide the feeder evenly, so position the unit where all three feeding stations are accessible to calves without crowding. Check teat attachment before each feed to make sure the screw-in Peach Teats are firmly in place and free from damage or blockage.

After each feeding session, remove the teats and rinse all components thoroughly with warm water. Use an appropriate dairy equipment sanitiser and scrub internal surfaces, paying attention to the moulded sections and corners. Rinse well and allow to air dry before the next use. All plastic components are UV-stable impact-resistant polyethylene and all steel parts are galvanised, so the feeder is built to handle regular outdoor use and cleaning without deteriorating.

Tips for Best Results

• Set the bracket height so the teats are at a natural head height for your calves — too high or too low can discourage feeding and put strain on young animals.
• Check and replace Peach Teats regularly. Worn or cracked teats can affect milk flow and may harbour bacteria. Replacement teats are a low-cost way to keep the feeder performing well.
• Clean the feeder after every single use. Milk residue builds up quickly in warm Queensland conditions and can cause bacterial growth that affects calf health. A dedicated calf feeder brush makes cleaning the internal mouldings much easier.
• Store the feeder in a shaded spot when not in use. Although the polyethylene is UV stable, reducing unnecessary sun exposure will extend the life of the teats and plastic components.
• If introducing new calves to the feeder, spend a few minutes guiding them to the teats — once they've had their first feed from it, most will return confidently on their own.
