This durable quality plastic container holds six litres, it can be mounted on fences or gates, and it’s designed to bring the advantages of the Peach Teat to calves whether they are being fed inside or outside.

Daviesway preferences the Peach Teat across its calf-rearing range because it believes it’s the best teat on the planet.

When a calf squeezes a traditional teat, most of the milk goes back into the container.

The Peach Teat’s unique patented internal collapsing flap-valve holds the milk in the teat, so it functions like a cow’s teat – moving all the time while the calf is suckling, and never closes in its relaxed state.

What It's Used For

The Daviesway Calf Feeder Peach Teat Reversible Feeder (0300) is designed for feeding young calves milk or milk replacer, whether they're housed in a shed or out in the paddock. The 6-litre durable plastic container mounts easily on fences or gates, making it a practical option for dairy and beef operations alike.

What sets this feeder apart is the Peach Teat — a patented teat that Daviesway rates as the best on the market for calf rearing. Unlike a traditional teat where most of the milk gets pushed back into the container when the calf suckles, the Peach Teat's internal collapsing flap-valve holds the milk in the teat itself. This mimics the natural action of a cow's udder — the teat moves constantly while the calf feeds and never fully closes at rest — encouraging a more natural feeding behaviour and better milk intake.

The feeder is reversible, with screw-in teat openings on both sides of the container, giving you the flexibility to mount it on either side of a fence or gate to suit your setup.

Fill the feeder with up to 6 litres of milk or milk replacer, then screw the Peach Teat firmly into the opening on your preferred side of the container. Mount the feeder securely on a fence rail or gate at a height appropriate for the age and size of your calves — generally around the natural nursing height to encourage correct posture while feeding.

Because the feeder has teat openings on both sides, you can switch the teat to the opposite side if your mounting situation changes, or if you want the calf to access the feeder from the other direction. Simply unscrew the teat from one side and screw it into the other.

After each feed, remove the Peach Teat and rinse both the teat and container thoroughly with warm water to remove milk residue. Wash with a suitable food-safe detergent, rinse well, and allow to air dry before the next use. Regular cleaning is essential to prevent bacterial build-up that can cause scours and other health issues in young calves.

Tips for Best Results

  • Mount the feeder at a height that encourages the calf to stretch its neck upward slightly while feeding — this promotes the natural swallowing reflex and reduces the risk of milk entering the rumen instead of the abomasum.
  • Clean the feeder and Peach Teat after every single feed. Milk residue left in warm conditions spoils quickly and can be a source of harmful bacteria for young calves.
  • Check the Peach Teat regularly for signs of wear, cracking or damage. A worn teat won't replicate the natural flow correctly and should be replaced — spare teats are worth keeping on hand during busy calving periods.
  • When not in use, store the feeder and teat in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight to extend the life of the plastic components.
  • Use the reversible teat opening to your advantage when setting up pens or laneways — being able to flip the feeder means you're not locked into one configuration.
