Run the cable from your energiser to the area you're fencing, keeping it away from metal gates and structures to avoid short circuits. Attach the cable to your insulators or reels at regular intervals—roughly every 10-15 metres depending on terrain—making sure it sits firmly in the clips. Bury the cable 100-150mm deep if it's crossing paddocks where stock or machinery might travel, or run it along a fence line if that suits your layout. Connect the far end to your earth stakes using proper crimp connectors, not just twisted joins. Tips: Check your cable regularly for damage from stock rubbing or weather—a small nick in that dual insulation will cause you grief down the track. Keep the cable clear of long grass and weeds, as they hold moisture and can cause gradual power loss through leakage to earth.
