Set up the Bainbridge Standard Branding Furnace in a clear, level, non-flammable area with adequate ventilation away from combustible material, flammable liquids and livestock holding areas. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for fuel loading and initial firing, then heat the branding irons to the correct temperature before applying to the animal. Ensure all personnel are experienced in stock handling and branding procedures. Tips: Test iron temperature on a piece of timber or cardboard before applying to cattle to avoid over- or under-branding. Keep a water supply nearby for safety. Maintain the furnace regularly and check for rust or damage that could affect heat distribution.
