Boracol is a deep-penetrating timber preservative and mould treatment that tackles rot, decay, borer and surface growth in one product. Built around boron (disodium octaborate tetrahydrate) with a co-biocide carried in glycol, it soaks deep into timber — right into damp and green wood where decay takes hold — to treat existing problems and guard sound timber against future attack. It comes ready to use, so there's no mixing or guesswork.

Ideal for fence posts, retaining walls, decking, pergolas, sheds, sub-floor and structural timbers, plus mould and moss on concrete and masonry.

Why growers and tradies use it

  • Dual-action boron plus co-biocide — controls mould, fungi and moss, and protects against wood-boring insects
  • Penetrates deep into the timber, including damp surfaces, protecting from the inside out rather than just coating the surface
  • Both remedial and preventative — treats timber that's already under attack and shields sound timber from future decay and borer
  • Ready to use — apply by brush, garden sprayer or airless/high-pressure sprayer, no dilution required
  • Compatible with common building materials and can be over-coated with paint or sealer once dry
  • Boracol 200RH — remedial treatment for fungal decay and insect (borer) attack in timber

How to apply

Apply to clean timber; it penetrates faster into damp surfaces. Do not dilute — up to 10% water is possible but calls for an additional coat. For outdoor timber, reapply every few years or protect with a suitable coating, as boron is water-soluble and can leach in exposed conditions. Always wear chemical-resistant gloves, long sleeves and eye protection.

Please note: Boracol treats and protects timber but cannot restore structural strength to already-rotted wood — badly decayed sections should be replaced.
