Excellent user safety as low rate of active.

Active Ingredient:
Propamocarb hydrochoride 722 g/l (600g/l propamocarb)
Soluble concentrate (SL)

Active Ingredient: 600 g/L propamocarb, present as propamocarb hydrochloride

Chemical Schedule: S5

APVMA Reg. No: 30487

For use on: Cut flower and ornamental bulb production (nursery)

Target Disease

Controls damping-off caused by Pythium spp. in seed beds, seedlings, propagated cuttings and container soil used for cut-flower and ornamental-bulb production. The current APVMA label (2023 variation) no longer includes recreational turf or general pot-plant/eucalyptus nursery uses – refer to the current registered label for the approved plant species list.

Application Instructions (current label)

Seed growing (cut flowers, ornamental bulbs): Use 1.5 mL in 1 L water (15 mL in 10 L). Apply 2 L of mixed solution per square metre immediately after sowing and covering.

Pricking-off seedlings: Use 1.5 mL in 1 L water. Apply 2 L of mixed solution per square metre to boxes and pots and leave until the surface is dry enough to prick off.

Treatment of propagated cuttings: Use 1.5 mL in 1 L water. Dip cuttings in mixed solution prior to planting, then apply 2 L per square metre immediately after setting and at 3-week intervals; 3 to 4 applications during the growing season should be sufficient.

Bulk soil treatment (container-grown cut flowers): 250–300 mL in 10–20 L water per cubic metre of soil/potting mix as a preventative treatment.

Mixing

This product is completely soluble in water – add the concentrate to the water and stir thoroughly. The mixture is stable and can be used the following day. Refer to the current registered label.

Always read the current registered product label before use. Dose rates and withholding periods on this page are provided as a guide only. The registered label supplied with the product is the legal document and takes precedence. If in doubt, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or the manufacturer directly.

Resistance Management

Previcur Fungicide is a Group 28 fungicide (carbamate group). Some naturally occurring fungal populations resistant to Previcur and other Group 28 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability. Resistant individuals can eventually dominate the population if these fungicides are used repeatedly, resulting in reduced efficacy. Rotate with fungicides from other groups.

Crop Safety

Previcur has displayed a wide range of safety to ornamental flowers and cut-flower and bulb crops. However, if it is used repeatedly at short intervals or at increased concentration, slight necrotic tipping of the cotyledons or of advanced leaves may occur.

Environmental Protection

DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with product or used containers.

Common Questions

What is Previcur Fungicide used for?

Previcur Fungicide is a systemic fungicide designed to protect ornamental plants against damping-off diseases caused by Pythium spp. It's a standard part of protective programs used by many commercial nurseries.

What form does this product come in?

Previcur Fungicide is supplied as a soluble concentrate (SL) in a 1 litre container, making it easy to mix and apply according to label directions.

How does Previcur work?

Previcur is a multi-site inhibitor that works by reducing mycelium growth, reducing the development of sporangia and spores, and interrupting the biochemical synthesis of fatty acids in the fungal cell. This multi-site action helps protect plants from damping-off diseases.

Where can I find the safety and application information?

All safety directions, withholding periods, mixing rates and application instructions are detailed on the registered product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). It's essential to read and follow these carefully before use. If you have questions, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or visit us at 55 Tozer Street, Gympie, or consult your agronomist or nursery advisor.

Should I use the same fungicide every season?

Good disease management practice includes rotating fungicides to help prevent resistance development in fungal populations. Chat with your agronomist or nursery specialist about a resistance-management strategy suited to your operation, and always follow the product label instructions.
