How it works:
Merivon contains two active ingredients and belongs to two mode-of-action groups:
Group 7, the SDHIs (Succinate Dehydrogenase inhibitors), and Group 11, the QoIs (Quinone outside Inhibitors).

Merivon Fungicide provides control of a broad range of fungal diseases across multiple crops. Key target diseases include powdery mildew, grey mould (Botrytis cinerea), black spot, anthracnose, leaf spot diseases, downy mildew (suppression), Alternaria leaf blight, Sclerotinia stem rot, and various other Ascomycete and Basidiomycete fungal pathogens. It is registered for use across a range of horticultural and broadacre crops including grapes, vegetables, stone fruit, pome fruit, and cereals — refer to the product label for the full list of registered crop and disease combinations approved in Australia.
Merivon Fungicide is a broad-spectrum fungicide containing Fluxapyroxad and Pyraclostrobin (note: the active ingredient listed as Tetraconazole may be a data discrepancy — always check the physical product label before use). Apply as a foliar spray using ground or aerial equipment calibrated to ensure even, thorough coverage of the crop canopy. Mix the required amount of product in a partially filled spray tank, agitate well, then top up to the final volume. Maintain agitation throughout application.
Timing is critical for best results — apply preventatively or at the very first sign of disease development. Do not wait until disease is well established, as fungicides perform best when disease pressure is low to moderate. Ensure good canopy penetration, particularly in dense crops like grapes or tomatoes where fungal diseases can establish quickly in humid conditions.
Avoid application if rainfall is expected within 1–2 hours of spraying, as wash-off will reduce efficacy. Apply during cooler parts of the day when possible to minimise spray drift and evaporation. Always observe the Withholding Period (WHP) and re-entry interval stated on the label before harvest or re-entering treated areas. Tips for Best Results
- Apply preventatively: Merivon works best as a protectant — apply before or at the very earliest sign of disease, particularly ahead of warm, humid weather conditions common in South-East Queensland that favour fungal outbreaks.
- Resistance management: Merivon contains two active ingredients from different mode-of-action groups (SDHI and QoI). To further reduce resistance risk, rotate with fungicides from different chemical groups and avoid consecutive applications of Merivon or other SDHI/QoI products within the same season.
- Mixing order: When tank mixing, half-fill the tank with water first, add Merivon with the agitator running, then add any other compatible products, and top up with water. Always conduct a jar test before mixing unfamiliar products together.
- Coverage is key: Use adequate water volumes to ensure thorough coverage of all leaf surfaces, especially the underside of leaves where many fungal spores germinate. In dense canopies, increase water volume accordingly.
- Storage and safety: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from children, foodstuffs, and incompatible chemicals. As a Schedule 6 chemical, wear appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection, protective clothing) during mixing and application. Dispose of empty containers according to label instructions and local regulations.
