With the inclusion of Boric Acid, mild insecticidal and fly repellent properties are evident.
However, when used in excessive amounts on large wounds, boron toxicity may occur from absorption.
In addition, Zinc Oxide acts as a skin protective, astringent, with antiseptic properties.
Salicylic Acid is a relatively insoluble desiccant (drying agent), antiseptic and also a fungicide.
