Set the gate frame square and level before installing the bow. Position the bow centrally across the gate opening and secure it firmly to both gate posts using the bracket hardware provided, ensuring all bolts are tightened properly. Check that the bow sits at the correct height to prevent livestock from jumping or crawling underneath, and test the gate swing freely without binding before putting stock through. Tips: Install the bow on the side of the gate away from where most pressure will come from your livestock — usually the inside of the paddock. Keep the bracket bolts tight and check them periodically, especially in the first few months, as vibration from gate use can loosen them over time. A little grease on the pivot points will keep the gate swinging smoothly and reduce rust in our humid Queensland climate.
