Description
Tixfix Pour-on is a ready-to-use cattle tick pour-on for beef cattle containing 25 g/L FLUAZURON, an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR).
Benefits:
The cattle tick (Rhipicephalus microplus) is a single host tick.
This means all three stages of the tick lifecycle occur on the same animal.
Successful control is based on preventing female ticks from laying eggs, thereby breaking the tick lifecycle and limiting contamination of the environment.
The strategic use of TIXFIX prior to the build-up of large numbers of cattle tick will limit the overall pasture contamination.
Where moderate to severe tick pressure occurs, repeated use over the peak tick season, with a maximum of 3 treatments per annual tick season, may be required to maintain low levels of infection.
Retreat when ticks are first seen, but not before at least 6 weeks after the previous treatment.
Dosage Rate:
TIXFIX is applied in two bands, about 7 cm wide, on each side of the spine between the rump and the shoulders.
It is applied at a dose rate of 3 mL per 50 kg bodyweight, delivering 1.5 mg fluazuron per kg bodyweight. Over 650 kg dose at rate of 3 mL/50 kg bodyweight.
