Description
Urea fertiliser is a rich source of nitrogen that helps your crops and pasture thrive.
It has an NPK (nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium) ratio of 46-0-0.
Although urea is naturally produced in humans and animals, synthetic urea used in fertiliser is manufactured with anhydrous ammonia.
Urea is manufactured as granules.
Granules are larger, harder, and more resistant to moisture.
As a result, granulated urea has become a more suitable material for fertilizer blends.
In general, urea will provide the most nitrogen at the lowest cost.
It is easy to store and does not pose as a fire risk for long-term storage.
Urea may be applied on its own or mixed with other fertilizers in blends.
Urea can be applied to sod crops, winter wheat or other small grains.
However, it is advised to make this application in cool seasons.
During warm periods (16 degrees Celsius or above), urea in contact with vegetative material tends to give off ammonia.
If urea must be applied on grass pastures in the summer, apply when theres a high probability of rainfall.
Top dressing urea with nitrogen stabilisers such as Agrotain & Nexen can help to reduce the amount of nitrogen lost as ammonia gas.
Features & Benefits:
Increased Flexibility:
You can apply urea to soil as a solid, solution or, for certain crops, a foliar spray.
Ease of Use:
Usage involves little or no fire or explosion hazard.
Urea manufacturing releases few pollutants to the environment.
High N Quantity:
Ureas high analysis - 46 percent N - helps reduce handling, storage and transportation costs over other dry N forms.
Potential Yield Increase:
When properly applied, it results in crop yield increases equal to other forms of nitrogen.
