The outermost layer is the bran fraction and under this is the aleurone layer.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp id=\"c1-id-25\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003eThe germ, which is at the base of the seed, is high in fat, fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and minerals.
